Two IHS Press books, Fair Culture: Images from Indiana Fairs and And Know This Place: Poetry of Indiana have been named as finalists in the 2012 Benjamin Franklin Awards sponsored by the Independent Book Publishers Association.Fair Culture, which features the work of Indiana photographer Harold Lee Miller, is a finalist in the Art/Photography category. Edited by Jenny Kander and C. E. Greer, And Know this Place is a finalist in the Poetry/Literary Criticism category.
Named in honor of America's most cherished publisher/printer, the Benjamin Franklin Awards recognizes excellence in independent publishing. Publications, grouped by genre are judged on editorial and design merit by top practitioners in each field. Winners will be chosen from one of the three finalists and will receive the Benjamin Franklin Award during a ceremony on Monday evening, June 4, 2012, at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City.
